Google Panda is not a search algorithm

Friday, Jul. 1, 2011

Sullivan compares Panda with the 2007 Google Bomb filter, which was periodically released to fight the so-called Google bombing (the output of a certain site based on an uncensored, ironic, etc query in the top of Google search results with the aid of mass link pumping).

Panda, according to Sullivan, is more of a new ranking factor added to the algorithm rather than an entire new algorithm. In fact, Panda is a filter created by Google especially to eradicate those websites that according to specific reasons have been determined to be of poor quality. If a site has a great number of low-quality pages, Panda flags down the entire website.

Sullivan’s position completely supports Matt Cutts’s statement which was released the night before SMX Advanced conferences took place, affirming the fact that Panda does not run consistently but is manually released every 2-3 weeks. With each launch, the Panda filter improves the system of evaluating the quality of pages in websites.

Cutts also highlighted the fact that the changes brought to the site by the webmaster after getting hit by the Panda filter cannot immediately bring back the site’s former positions. In order to make sure that the changes work, it is necessary to wait for Panda’s next round.

In conclusion, the webmasters must understand that since Panda is not an algorithm but rather Google’s filter, many websites may be suffering not from Panda but from some other changes in the algorithm.

Google abolished the censorship

Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2010

Google abolished the censorship in the Chinese version of its search engine lawfully.

On Internet blog lawyer of the corporation Google, David Drummond, said that the renunciation of censorship in the Chinese version of the search engine is a legitimate solution.

Drummond said that the abolition of censorship during the search can significantly increase access to information for people in China.

The decision was made in view of the December cyber attacks from China, which were aimed at stealing personal data from human rights defenders from China.

In an editorial in Xinhua News Agency Google is accused of trying to influence the culture and values of China. Thus, Chinese state media claim that the Internet giant is a tool of foreign policy in the U.S. government.

Previously, Google has decided to redirect users from page Google.cn, which acted filtering queries, to Hong Kong Google.com.hk, where there is no censorship.

Google Inc. considers the possibility of blocking access to the search engine by the Chinese government. Therefore, the company «will closely monitor issues of access». It is known that the Internet giant launched a special page which will contain daily updated information on the services of Google available in China.

«We resolutely oppose the politicization of commercial matters and express our displeasure and indignation with the unwarranted actions of Google» said the representative of the Chinese State Council for information.

It is worth mentioning that Google holds 36% of the market of search sites in China, while 60% of Chinese market is controlled by portal Baidu.

At the same time Google Inc. preserves in China its subsidiaries engaged in engineering services and sale of services that allows Americans to maintain their presence in China and do not miss the opportunities because of significant growth in popularity of the Internet in this country.

It will be recalled that the conflict between Google and China has escalated after the Internet giant announced its refusal to censor the Chinese version of the search engine. These actions were taken in response to a hacker attack on the Google corporate network and email accounts at Gmail.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009

Christmas and New Year are coming, we’ve got a little time before the grandiose holidays, that’s why the work in the company is in full swing. We are summing up, finishing the accounting period and we continue to negotiate more and more new contracts for search engine optimization.

At the beginning of the year 2009 lots of site owners reduced their advertising costs. It was really very hard period when businessmen believed in the future bankruptcy and didn’t make an attempt to rescue the business. One of the first points of costs reduction was the refusal to work for site promotion. But there is a question: was this measure saving for the business?

There were the others, those who having opened the function "Keyword Tool" in the service Google.Adwords, found out that there was a demand on their goods and services, these businessmen came up to the conclusion that to speak about the ruin was early. Correctly and in time spinning up site has brought our clients many new buyers.

As a result, everyone has understood that the easiest and the cheapest way to find new buyers is to find them in the Network. We are proud that we have helped our clients not only to save, but also to continue development, increasing their popularity among users.

We congratulate our clients on coming holidays! We remind you that the success of your business depends on the functioning and quality of your resource! You still have time to make an order for promotion at the actual price to attract new buyers next year.
